Rodney (15) is a friendly and outgoing young man who loves sports, computers, hip-hop music and being surrounded by friends. He’s got a warm, charismatic smile and a very vivid imagination. If he were a superhero, he’d have a special power of invisibility so he could step in and stop trouble without being seen. Rodney is a freestyle rap artist who can easily recite one of his many creative rap songs.
With an athletic build and a resemblance to Chad Ococinco, football is Rodney’s favorite sport. Rodney is a star athlete who has extraordinary natural ability. Rodney would like a family who will come to all of his games and cheer for him from the stands.
Rodney dreams of one day living in his own mansion, one that will include a star-shaped pool and a movie theater. His confidence, along with his great imagination, is what helps him talk openly about his love of family and life. Although he already has four older brothers, he is looking for a loving family who will make a genuine commitment to him and his older brother, Quadir.
Rodney has shared that he feels his previous adoptive family gave up on him and his brother too easily and now he lives without a family. Rodney is looking for the right family to come along who will offer him unconditional love and guidance into adulthood. Rodney dreams of a family who will support him as an adult and longs for a family who will allow him to come home for the holidays and on breaks from college.
Family is very important to Rodney, especially his brother Quadir. Rodney needs a family that is understanding, patient, can provide appropriate supervision, and caring. After experiencing the loss of his biological and adoptive families and hopes for a family to give him and his brother “a chance to make something out of ourselves and fulfill our goals”.
A prospective adoptive family that can provide a nurturing and secure environment for Rodney and his brother, Quadir, as well as patience with his teenage behavioral challenges, will be best suited for them.
