Sponsored by Kids Central Inc. and by the State of Florida
Youth and Family Alternatives, Inc. Adoptions in Partnership with Kids Central, Inc. is committed to finding the best possible families that meet our children’s needs. We find families for children based on the child’s specific needs and the perspective adoptive families strengths. We do not find children for adoptive families.
All of our children in care have special needs. If you are interested in becoming a perspective adoptive family please understand that we will prioritize your home study based on the needs of the children we have in care and we reserve the right to prioritize as we determine those needs. Our priority is as follows:
1.
Those families that already have children placed with them as non-relative or relative that must attend and complete MAPP in order to adopt.
2.
Those families that have completed MAPP and have designated a specific child in care with special needs in Circuit 5 that is available for adoption.
3.
Those families that have completed MAPP and have designated a child in care with special needs however they are not in Circuit 5.
4.
Those families that have completed MAPP and have designated a child with special needs that is out of state.
5.
Those families that have completed MAPP and are interested in children with special needs of those we have in care in the age group or sibling groups but have not designated a child of interest.
6.
All other families that have completed MAPP that are interested in special needs children by date of MAPP Completion
Please understand that we will prioritize by need, not by date of MAPP completion unless you fall into category 6. Your position may be bumped based on the needs of our children in care.
If you are not interested in children with special needs, we highly recommend that you contact a private adoption agency.
