It is the policy of Youth and Family Alternatives to provide equal opportunity in employment to all employees and applicants for employment, as well as equal opportunity for consumers and potential consumers in securing appropriate services as provided by Youth and Family Alternatives. No person is to be discriminated against in employment or services provided because of race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, disability, co-occurring disorders, or sexual orientation and disabled veterans or veterans of the Vietnam era. Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person requiring special accommodations to participate in any program service or meeting is asked to advise the agency at least 7 days before by contacting the program directly or Mark Phillips at 727-835-4166 or mphillips@yfainc.org
Youth and Family Alternatives, Inc. (YFA) provides a full continuum of Adoption Services under a subcontract with Kids Central, Inc. (KCI) in Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. Adoption Services are for children who are in the care and custody of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and who are available for adoption. In addition, the program recruits families for our children that are in need of adoption, trains and provides support to prospective adoptive families; matches and places children with families; and provides the necessary services and supports to ensure that placements are permanent.
Currently, there are many children within Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties in need of a forever family. Remember, you don’t need to be perfect to be a perfect parent, you just need to be willing to open your heart and home to a child that is in need of a forever family. All too often, a child turns 18 while in foster care without ever realizing the family life that many of us take for granted.
Explore Adoption!
You can do something today to change the life of a child forever! 30 Days of Amazing Children: Explore Adoption! will feature a different video or picture every day of children in foster care sharing their dreams of being adopted. Floridians are encouraged to visit www.adoptflorida.org during National Adoption Month in November to meet teens, siblings and children with medical needs who are available for adoption.
