Welcome to Youth and Family Alternatives, Inc.
Every child deserves a safe, forever home, a home free from fear and abuse. Today you can change the life of a child forever! Embrace adoption and begin your family’s journey to help a child or a sibling group realize their dream of having a loving family.
Remember, you don’t need to be perfect to be a perfect parent; you just need to be willing to open your heart and home to a child in need of a forever family. All too often, children turn 18 while in foster care without ever realizing the family life that many of us take for granted. You can make a difference, though; it’s not too late.
Youth and Family Alternatives, Inc., (YFA) provides a full continuum of Adoption Services under a subcontract with Kids Central, Inc. (KCI) in Circuit 5 (Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties). Our Adoption Services are for children who are in the care and custody of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and who are available for adoption. In addition, the program recruits families for our children that are in need of adoption. Youth and Family Alternatives, Inc., provides training and support to prospective adoptive families, matches and places children with families, and provides necessary services and supports to ensure that placements are permanent.
Youth and Family Alternatives, Inc., is a "special needs" adoption agency. All the children that we serve meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Eight years of age or older;
- Physically or emotionally handicapped;
- Of black or racially mixed parentage;
- A member of a sibling group of any age, provided that two or more of the sibling group remain together for the purpose of adoption. (It is YFA's belief that no sibling group should be separated except for extreme situations).
You don't have to be perfect to be a perfect family.
To support our mission of finding forever homes for these children, consider donating to our Starfish Fund.
YFA is accredited by the
Council on Accreditation
Sponsored by Kids Central Inc., and by the State of Florida
